This is a topic that fascinates me although people have discussed it on here before. I am referring to "lost gore" or "NSFL lost media", which is basically just footage, audio or pictures of death and injury that either (a) has been deliberately destroyed, (b) is in the possession of law enforcement and inaccessible to the general public, or (c) may exist somewhere but nobody knows where.
In a few rare cases, actual shock and gore and death videos were available online at some point but have become lost or hard to find over time. I guess an example of this would be the full unedited version of the infamous Chechlear Massacre in Russia. Pretty sure there are very short clips of this right here on GG but they are indeed very short and with degraded quality. A much longer version of the video was allegedly all over the Internet in the early '00s but I was still a kid at the time.
Of course, there is also footage of wrestler Owen Hart falling to his death from the rafters during the 1999 Over The Edge match. Anchorwoman's Christine Chubbuck suicide on live television. And, who can forget Grizzly Man? None of those infamous death videos can be found on the Internet, so they count as "lost", at least to the general public. Which may be for the better but I'm a morbid weirdo so they have my attention. Anyone know of any death or gore clips that are basically considered lost at this time?
