A man has been jailed for two-and-a-half years and hit with a three-year restraining order after being caught on film attacking a woman in the street - armed with a knife and a hammer.

David Nash, 48, had previously been friends with the woman, a neighbour who lived on the same estate as him, reports MEN.

She and two of her friends had been friendly with Nash, who used to give them a lift to the train station, but they fell out after Nash made suggestive remarks.

There had been a number of minor arguments between Nash and the three friends.

A judge accepted that Nash had not inflicted any injuries using the hammer or knife. He was arrested the following day.

A restraining order was passed, banning Nash from contacting any of the three women for three years.

It looks like the woman filming glasses David in the face near the end. She gets so close you can’t see anything, then there is a sound of glass smashing, and then David bleeds all over the victim from his forehead.
