A former member of the Lubuklinggau Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) for the 2009–2014 period, Andri Tanzil, alias Kehok (67), has passed away due to an accident. Before being pronounced dead, the victim was treated at a hospital for the severe injuries he sustained.
The accident occurred on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Taba Koji Village, East Lubuklinggau II District, Lubuklinggau, South Sumatra, on Monday (January 12, 2026) at around 10:35 WIB (Western Indonesian Time).
The accident that killed the victim was caught on CCTV cameras at the scene. In the surveillance footage, a black Toyota Avanza is seen pulling over to the left side of the road.
Then, the driver of the car opened the door just as the victim, riding a Honda Astera motorcycle with license plate BG-6114-HI, was passing by. As a result, the victim crashed into the car door and fell into the middle of the road.
Tragically, when he fell, a Toyota Fortuner with license plate B-1527-RB driven by Edi Supryanto (50) was driving behind the victim, causing the victim to be immediately run over.
The incident was confirmed by the Head of the Traffic Unit (Kasat Lantas) of the Lubuklinggau Police, AKP Desi Azhari, when contacted by detikSumbagsel.
Desi stated that as a result of the accident, the victim suffered a laceration on his right temple, bleeding in the head, a fracture to the right side of his chest bone, and fell unconscious.
"The victim was treated at Siloam Hospital Lubuklinggau for approximately three hours after the accident. However, unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead while undergoing treatment," she said on Tuesday.
Desi mentioned that her team has processed the crime scene regarding the accident. However, the driver of the black Toyota Avanza, who was the primary cause of the accident, fled after the incident.
"As for the driver of the black Toyota Avanza, they fled immediately after the incident. It is currently still under investigation by our officers," she said.
