Authorities are searching for two men who were involved in slitting a man's throat and trying to kidnap his pregnant wife outside a Whataburger in northwest Houston, according to a Houston police.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Dec. 18 in the 400 block of West Little York, according to a press release from the Houston Police Department. One suspect approached the man with a handgun and held a knife to his neck, while he ordered the victim to hand over his wallet and cellphone.
The man gave the robbers his items, but the two suspects told his wife to come with them and tried to pull her into their four-door black car.
The woman's husband stepped in and told the suspects that they could not leave with his wife.
KPRC reports the couple recently learned the woman was pregnant.
After trying to intervene, one of the suspects slit the husband's throat. When the man fell to the ground, both suspects kicked and hit him in the face.
The suspects fled the scene, leaving the man gushing blood in the parking lot.
He survived and was released from the hospital on Thursday.
The suspects have not bee seen since the attack and robbery detectives hope someone will recognize one of the men from a sketch drawing.
On a threat scale of one to ten, I’d say this guy is a ten. He’s just about as dangerous as they get.” HPD Robbery Detective Jeff Brieden said. “He cut him up really bad. Which tells me it wouldn’t have bothered this guy one bit if he had killed him.”
