Good call maybe. In that case the gas station employee gassing it up for him (because this is New Jersey) might be in on it too, because how did he not notice something very strange is going on....It is really weird that the driver 1) left the car on, and 2) The employee was OK with that.

This exact situation has actually happened to me, only I wasn't gassing up my car, just throwing away trash. And the car was not mine, it was a company car. Long story short, highly motivated by several hundred dollars in cash and all forms of ID I left in my car, I fought like hell to stop him from getting away and succeeded. So it seems strange to me this guy just LET somebody take off in his car...jump in the fucking car and strangle him lol, unless the thief flashed a gun I don't know why he let him go.
