When I was in my first year as a junior doctor, I was called to review an agitated old guy with dementia on a night shift.

He had been commando crawling under other patients’ beds and disconnecting their IV lines saying they were “the Jerries” and he needed to sabotage their mission.

I spent a stressful 30 mins with 10mg of diazepam in my hand trying to get him to take them, but he thought I was a spy so I couldn’t persuade him. The nurses had a shit night chasing after him 😂.
