I thought the title had prepared me, but those cries were heart wrenching, and paired with the photos of him with his children, it's all more than sobering. While she did initially say he felt warm, apparently from a cursory search, it's not uncommon for parts of the body to remain warm for up to several hours after a non-traumatic death, even though the person is almost always beyond recovery after roughly 4 to 6 minutes. The bag over the head also probably contributed to a slowing of the usual process of algor mortis.

It's so sad he did it only a week after the 3-year-old's birthday. I suppose the 'why' will never fill the void left in his absence, all I can offer are my sincere condolences to the family, a family who has had to live without him for almost a decade now, children who had to grow up without him. The only solace I can offer is thanking Christ it wasn't one of those little ones who found him.

In pace requiescat.

I thought the same thing, but also, I wonder if he tried to talk before he died. I'll bet that would have sounded really funny with helium.
