It's interesting, to me at least, the way Neanderthals have been seen as unsuccessful, stupid, died out due to homo sapiens etc.

They were in existence twice as long as us, made clothes for winter, hunted big game (the biggest game ever post dinosaurs), had a sense of an after life (ochre on bodies in graves) and built robust huts and shelters. Far from dying out they merged with us. (any of us who are not niggers...)

I read the 'could lift more than 500kg', which is based on a study of bone length/density, leverage, muscle insertion points etc (I need to re read this as was not taking it all in at the time) and it blew me away.

Hand to hand fighting with these guys would have been a loosing battle. Have you met those men who are just so big and powerful, hands like bunches of bananas? If they want to fuck you up you can only submit...

Mind you, if you had a flat tyre you could get your Neanderthal buddy to lift the corner of the car up and change the tyre... useful friends.

I've had the DNA test for family links etc but don't think it included a test for Neanderthal. Who did your test?

I used 23andme. I have a few health conditions in my family, i.e. Alzheimer's, and I was wanting to know if I had either of the genetic markers for it in my DNA. Also, macular degeneration from my mother's side. So I got their health package along with ancestry report. I can't remember the cost, I think maybe £100, I had it on special at the time.

I thankfully have zero markers for Alzheimer's, but it did show an increased likelihood of macular degeneration. Which makes sense.

To be honest, what I got report wise for my money was well worth it and id deffo recommend them.

Edited: Just checked and for what i got you'd be £159 now. If you want to see what level of information you get, id be more than happy to redact some personal info and share with you.
