tech Need help choosing a monitor

john5

The lunatic is on the grass
I am currently in the process of ordering for my new pc gaming build but I am struggling with which monitor to buy, this is what I have so far:

Corsair ICUE 5000x case
Asus rog strix b650e-e gaming AM5 motherboard
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU
PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 xtx oc red devil 24gb gpu
Kingston Fury Beast RGB 32gb 5600MHz DDR5 memory
Corsair RMx Shift Series 1000w modular power supply 80 plus gold
Samsung 990 Pro M.2-2280 2TB PCI Express 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD
Corsair H100x RGB ELITE 240mm AiO Liquid CPU cooler

My budget for a monitor is up to £800 but must be minimum 144hz 3840x2160.
Any recommendations?

Thats a very fancy PC, insane graphics card
https://rog.asus.com/monitors/32-to-34-inches/rog-strix-xg32uq-model/

Probably slightly over the £800 but why tarnish your great build with anything less. Its on offer on Amazon.

I looked at that one but the reviews weren't all that good for such a high end monitor.
Favourite so far is the Cooler Master Tempest GP27U 27" Ultra HD.

Have decided to change my case to the Fractal Design Meshify 2, no other reason than I think it just looks a bit better.

I'm tired of having to upgrade all the time so decided to future proof as much as I can, at my age this build should last me 'til my dying day. This is also my first ever self build as I usually get somebody else to build my pc's so You Tube will be my friend soon. As soon as I decide on a Monitor I can get it ordered from ccl online.

I agree. Don’t go cheap on the monitor.

I remember my first gaming PC I bought when I left home. It cost over a thousand just got the tower and then I go and buy the cheapest monitor. Plus my headset, keyboard and mouse cost like £10 🤡

Get the Asus 42 inch it's fkn A
Or the older model, still great

Remember water coolers evaporate in 3 to 5 years, so offset any future cost with an noctua cpu cooler instead..
Don't chimpnout on a monitor, you've spent heaps, but your eyes will thank you for it.
Plus you won't be upgrading the screen for a while.
I used to build custom pc's and that's just some advice..
Hope it helps

In the end I went with the Cooler Master Tempest GP27U.I also changed a couple of other items, went with a Be Quiet! Shadow Base 800 FX case and a Pure Rock 2 FX CPU air cooler.
Gonna start to build it today.

Nice rig

It's smart to buy n now because if shit goes off in Asia we are not going to get any silicon chips anytime soon.
