Did the same thing in a customer's house,

It was a repipe and I was collecting all the scraps and my boot slipped off the joist and went through the old popcorn ceiling

Good thing it was in a back room nobody ever went in

I've seen where actually using the beams caused a massive collapse of a ceiling and strut, the bosses and the owner (airline captain) just laughed while the tech and the lady of the home cried. Insurance more than covered it.
