Years ago I worked in NYC in the Art work. A queer friend worked at a high-end posh art boutique that was owned by this huge like 6'6" guy who was kind of swarthy and beefy. I heard the guy disappeared for a while and turned up having transitioned to female.

As a female who spent 40 plus years feeling fat and not pretty enough; it blew my mind that someone would do that to themselves. Obviously there is more to this than " I'm going to look so hot as a bae" It's hard enough not being a 7 in society... but choosing to be a giant woman with a five o clock shadow who lived 47 years (guesstimate) as a macho man is intense.
