Serious On This Day, December 8th of 1980, John Lennon Was Murdered.

Love them or hate them, The Beatles were one of the most influential and pioneering bands in history.

To this day, they are the best-selling music act of all time, and the most successful act in the history of the US Billboard charts.

John Lennon was the original founder of the band, and was senselessly murdered by so-called fan Mark David Chapman mere hours after signing an autograph for him. He was just forty years old.

If you're a fan, what are your favorite songs?

✌️

Mark David Chapman was a cunt. Not because he killed John Lennon, but the fact that he could have killed Yoko Ono instead!

My favouritis Lennon song of all time is 'Jealous Guy'.
My favorite Lennon song is "Mother". Such a guttural, emotional song. I think legitimate anguish and sorrow that you can feel in a song is rare.

I'm sure I read somewhere, many, many moons ago, that this wasn't about his actual mother, but more to do with Yoko, who he started calling mother after Sean was born. I could be wrong though (and it does happen from time to time). But either way... I'm a massive Lennon fan, as well as being a fan of The Beatles.

As a fellow Lennon fan I'm aware of that speculation, but it's entirely untrue. You can read about the conception of the song here or just have a glance at this screenshot from Wikipedia:

I'm not a fan. I've never understood the revere for the Beatles to be honest.
Some Betles fans would rebuke you for that statement, but to do so would completely contradict everything they stood for!

I think the main reason they were so admired, revered and imitated is how very unique they were. They experimented and created music in ways that defied the norms of multiple generations.

Whether you like them or not is just fine. Yet, whether you know it or not, it's very likely that some of the music you do enjoy was inspired or affected in some way by them.

Fuck Lennon, I hate his music and more over the way he treated women. But Fuck Chapman too possibly one of the first documented incels. What a pussy.

The Beatles killed Rock and Roll.. 2 down, 2 to go
Considering Rock and Roll's very creation is credited exclusively to African Americans, I would think you'd be overjoyed that they killed it?

By your own subtle and poorly disguised admission, you adore African Americans and their culture. Not that there's anything wrong with that if you're African American or one whom idolizes them. Oh wait. I get it. You're black!

Been hiding that for a long time, huh boy?
