I don’t claim expertise but that parachute sure looks like WWII surplus. I know they use a much different setup in western militaries training now. They not only descend slower but they give the parachutist some steering ability. This vintage is the same as they would attach to a crate of, well, potatoes.

Of course the real deal sneaky dudes have totally steerable chutes. Killing/disabling your own trained soldiers by buying parachutes on the cheap is a poor use of funds…
