In my first job at a cellphone store an older man once gave me a $20 tip for doing bassic software updates on his phone. I told him $20 was alot for what I did, and he bassically told me the same story as yours. Years later long after getting a new career I went to a store and a young kid did some basic customer service for me, so I gave him a $20 tip, he told me it was alot, I told him the same story, and thus the cycle continues. The culture we live in is the one we make for ourselves.

I was driving my Landcruiser back from Melbourne to Darwin one stinking hot summer and was just passing through Tennent Creek, in the middle of the Northern Territory about 1000km south of Darwin, when I saw an old homeless white guy going through the rubbish bins. I will be the first to admit that I am not a nice person. I did not do this out of the goodness of my heart. I did it because that kind gesture that was given to me was eating on me and I just had to give it back to make that feeling I owed somebody Stop.

I was in my early twenties, and I was buying my groceries and cheap beer. A friendly older guy asked me why I was drinking such swill? I told him that I was just starting out living on my own and I was working my first real job. I told him life as an adult, has more bills then I thought.

He takes my grocery cart, and says I was once just like you when I was younger. He upgraded my hotdogs to steaks, puts back the Bologna, and gets me roast beef from the deli. He loads my cart with good food I would have liked to have been able to afford at the time. Then he put a case of good German beer in the cart.
Told me he is paying for it, won’t take no for an answer. He said what he wants me to do is if some day I am doing well financially, that I one day do the same thing for another man starting out In life.

Today I am proud to say with tears in my eyes I did the same thing for a very appreciative young man today.

That's shit as hell. Besides there's no good German beer. Does not exist. Belgium beer is the one of someone who cares for another. So. If you grown up just learn. Fuck the others.
