Racist Lesbians File Lawsuit After Wrong Semen Sent From Sperm Bank

A racist lesbian couple from Ohio is suing a sperm bank after they were sent semen from the wrong donor resulting in their baby being mixed-race.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Jennifer Cramblett filed a lawsuit on Monday that alleges the Midwest Sperm Bank sent her vials of semen in September of 2011 from a black donor rather than the requested white donor, and the reasons she’s unhappy will make you shake your head.
Cramblett, 36, and her partner, Amanda Zinkon, searched through pages of comprehensive histories of their potential donors, the suit claims. The white Uniontown couple chose donor number 380 after an exhausting search, but the problem was that the bank sent semen from donor 330, who was a black male.
The result was that Cramblett had a mixed-race child, which she and her partner believe will cause unnecessary burden on themselves and their baby because they live in a predominately white neighborhood, but that’s not all.
“On August 21, 2012, Jennifer gave birth to Payton, a beautiful, obviously mixed-race baby girl,” she claims in the lawsuit. “Jennifer bonded with Payton easily and she and Amanda love her very much. Even so, Jennifer lives each day with fears, anxieties and uncertainty about her future and Payton’s future.”
According to the Tribune:
Raising a mixed-race daughter has been stressful in Cramblett and Zinkon’s small, all-white community, according to the suit. Cramblett was raised around people with stereotypical attitudes about nonwhites, the lawsuit states, and did not know African-Americans until she attended college at the University of Akron.
The suit says that because of her background and upbringing, she “acknowledges her limited cultural competency relative to African-Americans and steep learning curve, particularly in small, homogenous Uniontown, which she regards as too racially intolerant.”
The ridiculous lawsuit even goes as far as to claim that getting her daughter a haircut will be burdensome because she has to travel into black neighborhoods, where she’s “obviously different in appearance and not overly welcome.” And to top it off, the woman’s therapist supposedly told her she needs to relocate to a more culturally diverse community that has good schools for her daughter’s emotional well-being.
The suit against Midwest Sperm Bank is for wrongful birth and breach of warranty, and they’re seeking compensation for the emotional and economic losses Cramblett has suffered as a result. However, it sounds more like they’re just looking for easy money, since generally speaking you’re not allowed to sue a company because you’re racist, am I wrong?
While it’s understandable that someone would be highly disappointed in receiving the wrong sperm in such a case, it’s unlikely a judge is going to side with a person who is suing based on their own prejudices. Then again, who knows these days. Let’s see if this gets thrown out of court.
You would think a lesbian couple would be more tolerant of things that are different from the norm. When do you suppose they’ll sit this kid down and explain to this girl that she’s not exactly what they wanted? Tolerance and acceptance must only apply to other people they encounter.
