Hey guys i just got into The Ramones. I had heard Blitzkrieg Bop growing up because its so popular and thought it was catchy but i had a prejudice against them. Im from the west coast and most of my music taste i got from my dad who didn’t like punk and also didn’t like the 60s scene in New York at all. I have slowly in my 20s come out of the worldview i inherited.
This put me off bands like The Velvet Underground until i actually listened to them and also to the Ramones which of course came later.
I must say that the music is still simple, but its so fun and also if you are an innovator in a genre that elevates you in my mind. For example i don’t like Green Day because they are just a ripoff and have come up with nothing original.
Anyway Ive listened to The Ramones first album and i am officially a fan. I love the pure fun rock and roll energy and i can hear the 60s pop influences in the record too. Since listening to the album I’ve watched alot of Ramones interviews and docs, this one being my favorite:
And my favorite Ramones has come to be Joey. I’m not sure why exactly, but I think it’s because i relate to him the most.
Anyway to my question enough about me, im looking for a Ramones concert film that is great quality audio and video. Ive seen some on youtube and alot have bad video quality but they did release a concert film shot with good cameras and audio? If so what is the name of the movie?
Also if you have any interesting stories or factoids about the band please feel free to post. I was two years old when they broke up and so have never seen then in concert.
