Recurring Dream

TLDR, remembering old recurring dreams

I've usually found a correlation between what I'd watch on television, and what I would dream afterwards.

This was most present around the age of 5. I'd watched "Critters" multiple times with my grandfather, my uncle had many grim reaper statues in his trailer where I spent many nights learning and beating Gauntlet 64, and my mother had recently moved us in with a guy and his daughters.

My first recurring nightmare involved all three; I'd emerge from dark woods late at night, the only light was from a full moon. I would look to the side, and notice a blank tombstone. The reaper emerges from the ground, and gives chase. I find a ladder to a tree house, which has a bridge to another tree house which is built more like a secure hut.

Once I climbed the ladder and opened the door to the first tree house, the Critters would try to attack me, so I would turn and run across the bridge. I always made it to this point, but I would bang on the locked door in a panic while everybody inside just stares through a window and laughs, while I die to hungry Critters.

Another dream which started shortly after this one started (they overlapped for some time, but I'm unsure what caused this one) starts with me and another person running for our lives through a dense, tall grassy field in broad daylight. I never knew what we were running from, but I'd always hear the other person scream for their life when it caught them. I would continue running, but never lived in this one either.

So I’m not the only one who dies in their dreams lol. I’ve asked a few people I know and they never had that happen before. Mine usually involve running from some threat, sometimes an unknown threat as well. A shrink I used to see told me it likely stems from my childhood trauma. Did you have a rough childhood full of danger and potential danger?

I know the meaning of this dream, $40 cashapp will interpret it for you

Edit - look to your diet. Don’t eat after 7pm. My guess is you’re having some nightly snack and it’s chemically inducing this same dream
That's not as silly as it sounds, if I guts down cheese or milk after 3pm I have crazy dreams, no cheese, no crazy dreams, the other thing to interpreting dreams is if they seem like real life, no impossible things happening, then their worth interpreting.
@Stormy Llewellyn get a notebook, keep it beside the bed & first thing when you wake write down EVERYTHING that happened in your dreams, this gives a picture that can be used to decipher your dreams, re-read it & it could give you a lightbulb moment for the answer. Alter foods before bed as well (note in book)

Is anyone good at interpreting dreams?

Periodically, I have this same dream, and since it's so realistic while I'm dreaming it, I get extremely frantic and ...depressed?

I can be in the middle of other dreams, but it's always the same. I come into a room and suddenly remember that I have a big birdcage with parakeets inside (I have none in r/t, although I had some as a teenager). I realize that I haven't given them any seeds or water or attended to them at all for months... If it was reality they would be dead, but they're always alive, some barely, and the rest rough looking and frantic themselves because they're so hungry and thirsty.

I dream this often and I would like it to stop.
Dreams of this sort usually indicate feelings of not living up to one's responsibilities, or feeling that one is failing in an area of life one considers very important. These type of dreams may also symbolize feelings of neglecting some aspect of one's self. This may mean that there is some aspect of creativity that one is ignoring that may be worthy of developing. Many times, creativity is sacrificed because it isn't "practical". These dreams are indications that the creative impulse is demanding attention, even at the cost of sacrificing practicality.

Guy having same dream this was advice given to him

have you ever saw the guy who does crazy shit with that? amazing pics he creates on that thing.

ive been dreaming of a dead uncle quite a bit lately. and another uncle thats alive.
so im under the understanding that when these dreams occur, the dead are visiting, and the living are thinking about that person.
i can see that, because when my uncle was alive,he never bothered with me and the living one doesnt bother just the same!
but im done. ive told all my relatives im done with being the one to always go and visit them and make the phone calls. initiate things.
so far none of them have been to my house that i moved into about 10 yrs ago and the must have lost my number?
but its a family reunion at funerals and all fake, because i remind them of this situation.
man i hope i fucking hit the lottery for mega millions.....

no one ever calls or visits me either, i wonder why, as i'm a welcoming person (well, maybe not too much)

if you win the mega millions, i'll be your new best friend!

Left this as a comment elsewhere

But ima pop two of my recurring dteams down for yall analytic amusement
(I have a few others too but they're a lil less interesting, not worth the share.. well theres another really horrid one actually bur im blanking it out best i can aha ah.. fuck.. :p )

Yeah...
Ive been having recurring dreams for a while now where, "someone".. kicks the kitchen door open, knocks M over, then crashes through the living room door saying "we didnt mean to hurt him" (in one variation, they are silent or incomprehensible in the others)
Then shoots me in the fucking head

And i can feel it, i dont wake up! I feel the shot, i hit the floor, everything goes black but im not properly dead, i can feel the blood pumping out of my head and a strange extreme heat emenating from me as this other warmth slowly covers my upper body and face

Usually wake up after a brief while of that...

(Talking dreams, ive been having another badass, super vivid recurring one where im back at the house i lived as a teen, only im female, or in drag.. and loads of people are dossing and taking the piss outta me like good friends should. Then i end up downstairs with this girl, dunno who, when i see this guy in all black leathers, hoodie and a snood outside the front gate, my dog george (rip) is out there so me being me, runs out to the garden and tells this guy not to wind my dog up (properly life like.. lol)
Anyway he pulls out a knife and says "do you want to meet a monster" so i shout George to get inside, then i run just inside the front door, grab a pair of scissors from this like fuse box we had there, then run out and stab the dude 5 times in the gut, then come back in saying "not much of a monster were you".....
then i wake up

The dude in the hood is definitely my in my late teens..

Psyche hey, totally fucked lol

It could be some bad memory
You can't really interpret dreams because there is no proven real basis for them to mean anything
Usually, the brain is in a state of rest when you sleep and tries to process what you see or hear during the day
Try not to watch birds if you can

Dreams about caring for animals, especially pets like parakeets, often reflect feelings of responsibility, nurturing, or aspects of your life that you might be neglecting. The recurring theme of entering a room and remembering the birdcage suggests that there are parts of your life or responsibilities that you’re not fully attending to, which may be causing you some anxiety.

The fact that the birds are alive, albeit in rough shape, indicates that while you may feel overwhelmed or guilty about neglecting these responsibilities, there’s still hope for improvement. It might symbolize aspects of yourself or your relationships that need more care and attention. The frantic behavior of the birds can represent your own feelings of stress or urgency in your life.

Consider what areas in your waking life might feel neglected or chaotic. This dream could be urging you to take a closer look at your responsibilities and prioritize self-care or the care of others.

I dated a chick that would masterbate in her sleep. 😂 id wake up to it sometimes, I’d finish the job she started. 🤣🤘🏻
I believe this has somthing to do with the fact, that you did not masturbate her, or gave her oral sex before she went to sleep. This is also a form of neglect. When in a relationship, you should make sure the female has an orgasm before she sleeps. Not only does this make her have even deeper sleep, but also allows you to watch your favorit Netflix series, or play computer games all night without her bothering you.

Don't know about the dreams but I cannot imagine that most women don't like fellatio. It's fun, I highly enjoy it. Now I am curious if that could be weird.
I am glad you added this insight. I have seriously been questioning my entire perspective on this since the ‘all women hate blowjobs’ comment was made.

Bc if that were true, you women must love us something fierce, and that’s what I appreciates about you.
