Ren.

I recently discovered this guy. and thought he deserved his own thread, as he is quite a unique and an exceptionally talented guy.

The nine minute video sees Ren in a wheelchair wearing a hospital gown, the lyrics giving a fascinating insight into his tortured relationship with a reproving voice inside his head. The entire thing is so watchable.

Despite his talents Ren, who is from Anglesey, North Wales, remains unsigned, citing on social media that he’s too ‘physically and emotionally unwell’ to commit to a label.

He speaks openly about his battles with illness, autoimmunity and psychosis. I think his head mess, makes him rather a genius. His entire channel is exceptional

Apparently he has Lyme disease.

1990–2013: Early life and Trick The Fox

Ren Erin Gill was born on 29 March 1990 in Bangor, Gwynedd, Wales.[7]

While studying music performance at Bath Spa University, Ren started a duo called Trick The Fox. He was discovered by a talent scout in 2009, when the two were busking.[8] and in 2010, he signed a record deal with Sony Records.[9] Tom Frampton joined the band.[10] In 2013, Trick The Fox was listed as one of the acts performing at Beach Break Live 2013[11] and their music began to receive airplay. The first time they heard one of their songs on the radio was 2 December 2013, when BBC Radio 1xtra played their song Twista.[12]

Sony Records later dropped Ren when he was diagnosed with an illness that affected his ability to perform.[9][13][14]

Just very clever tbh he claims ME and lymes disease

I've been watching some reaction videos to this song and others by Ren over the past few days.. This one especially has many of the viewers in tears, and some of the best reactions are from rappers who've been in the game for a number of years.. they are totally stunned by him.

He mentions in the song about maybe he'll do something to be remembered for... something great.. he probably didn't realise at the time that this is the song that could do just that

He's a real gem isn't he, quite a talent. It's rare to find someone like him today, in a world of processed moneyed music.
his latest single was released 4 days ago and has already topped 1mil viewers. I do hope he gets the mega fame he deserves.

Dead excited for Ren, hoping he pulls off the no.1 slot. I bought a copy.. Hes amassed quite a following in super quick time, seriously worth a listen to if you dont know him.

Welsh artist Ren has spectacularly pulled ahead of Rick Astley in the race for this week's UK Number 1 album.

With less than 24 hours to go until the Official Albums Chart will be result decided, the singer, rapper, writer and producer Ren is in the midst of performing a heroic attempt to score his first chart-topping album in the UK with his second full-length record, Sick Boi.

After being stuck behind pop stalwart Rick for most of the week, in the last full day of the race to Number 1, Ren has just leapfrogged into pole position, pushing Rick's new album Are We There Yet? down to Number 2.
