The article says the planet likely is a big ocean. They can look for gasses that plant life produces.
We can assume they reproduce
They have to reproduce in some form for their continuation as a species. But it doesn't infer they will fuck other interplanetary species for fun. They might consider it 'beastiality' if intelligent enough.
