An Air Force Black Hawk ("Owl") helicopter crashed into the ground this morning (Friday) in Gush Etzion, near a residential building in the Haredi settlement of Ma'ale Amos , during an airlift attempt. There were no injuries in the incident, and the IDF has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
The helicopter was on a routine training mission in the area last Tuesday, but due to a technical malfunction and severe weather conditions, it was forced to make an emergency landing in an open area in Gush Etzion, near one of the Jewish settlements. This morning, it was decided to evacuate the helicopter using a Yasur transport helicopter, which was intended to fly it to the base for repairs.
During takeoff, shortly after the malfunctioning helicopter was lifted into the air, the harnesses that tied it to the Yasour helicopter tore – and the helicopter fell to the ground. The fall occurred near a residential building, but as mentioned, there were no casualties"
