Seen any newer horror films recently?

Just watched Stopmotion starring Aisling Franciosi (Game of Thrones, The Nightingale).

I'm not sure what sub-genre of horror this film falls into, but it was great. A unique sort of psychological horror with a little gore. If you can find it, give it a watch.

How about you? Anything recent you'd recommend?

I watched midsommar recently, highly praised,I thought it was shit mate, slasher on netflix was the last actual horror films I enjoyed, nostalgic and schloky but fun,I'll look out for stopmotion, cheers.

I don't know if it's "horror" but I LOVE the purge movies, they have many messages to give for humans
The last one I saw was The tusk, For now I didn't find anything satisfying because I like kind of real movies without unnecessary running and hiding all the time.
Humans experimental and psychological are the best to watch for me

I saw Long Legs last night. I was an hour and a half into it before realizing the loony was Nicolas Cage in prosthetic make-up LOL then once I realized, I couldn't un-see it. :lulz: It's currently on the big screens here in OZ but keep an eye out it will most likely show up soon on the internet somewhere. It has weird "hints" of Silence of the Lambs but only in it's style, not story.

How about the film Smile ? I thought that one was sort of unique in a way.
That one had some jump scares that really got me which is rare. I saw it at the drive-in, that was a good time 🙂 I got to see a double feature of Nightmare on Elm Street (original not the remake) with The Lost Boys at the drive-in a couple years ago…fucking magical

@montster I'm surprised you didn't like Midsommar.

Makes all the difference in the world.
I was stoned and pissed as fuck but all I could think was,"this isn't the original wicker man",was constantly waiting for Christopher Lee.very pretty film, but it wasn't wicker man,I might sound like a snobby little shit, but can't change it👍🏻

Black Phone, Midsommar & Hereditary. I was going to include Terrifier but that's not recent lmfao.
Terrifier 3 is coming out soon, looking forward to that,I liked the pale girl......not like that, get your mind out of the gutter......or am i 🤔

I started watching the first Terrifier about a week ago, but it seemed sort of cheesy and I didn't finish it. But, I'll go ahead and watch the rest of it since it was obviously popular enough to warrant two sequels.

Abigail - Good Movie
Late Night with the Devil - Decent Movie

I've been waiting for this to come to Shudder or another streaming service.

No you are right mate, but sometimes you just need some mindless bullshit,I'm surprised it got 2 sequels, but I always go back to the last house on the left original, beautiful soundtrack, and if you watch the making of it makes a big difference👍🏻

thepiratebay.org is still alive and well... Use a VPN
Shit piratebay is still going?Well I'm cheered up now, cheers for the good news.

I LOVE that you have Drive-ins wherever you are in the world. Here in Australia they nearly all became non existent through the 90's with a few exceptions. I actually live near one that remained open and the owner (who owned it since the 70's) has desperately tried to keep it open and alive so put in new digital projector and a nice new screen but has tried to keep it retro by building a diner with hot dogs and in the old style. I LOVE old drive ins. I reckon he could tap into a niche audience by maybe showing really trashy exploitation drive in classics maybe even once a month I think heaps of people would go. I live in Melbourne and frequently go to an old cinema called the Astor that pride themselves on showing old classics on the big screen . Every Halloween they show an all nighter from dusk til dawn of old gore nasties and people bring sleeping bags and cushions ,it's mayhem they even show old 80's commercials between films. I'll put a link just for the curious that shows the stuff they have.
