It's a boa, similar to a python, and also a constrictor, but found in the Americas. Pythons used to be found in Britain doing comedy.
 
Indeed, but still a big chance that it gets infected.
I looked after a 7' python for a while and had a few bites. They don't go deep, more like scratches. Never got infected.

The teeth tend to slant backwards to assist in swallowing prey:

That's probably because they are fed cultured food. Snakes that live in nature eat rats with diseases. there is a difference.
