This term 'fighter jets'... we've not flown 'propeller fighters' for almost 80 years. Are we really suggesting clarity on this?

Surely 'several US fighters crash over Kuwait' would nail it.

All the media have picked up on the term. It's just infantile... in my opinion...

How about 'mono plane fighters' just to make it really clear...

How do 'several' jets crash unless flying in extremely close formation, like during an airshow? The rear of the fuselage is burning indicating they either struck another plane or were hit by some kind of missile or anti aircraft weapon. They wouldn't be burning and in an unrecoverable spin if it was just some kind of mechanical malfunction.
