I have a Chinese mate that got exactly that. Only, it turns out they only kept her alive because the doctor lied and said the mother was having twins, a boy and a girl, and it would be okay. The doctor then lied later during the pregnancy saying the girl ate her brother in the womb, but it's too late to abort. After she found out she only got the "I should have had a son, what a waste" comments until she moved out.

She's a sport about it now. I always call her Shark, implying she still ate a sibling I'm the womb and it's all laughs.
