There's this YouTube channel that's supposedly affiliated with PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals). It is called PETA2TV and most of its videos are relatively innocuous but informative. However, about 10 years ago, they uploaded an alleged PSA simply titled "Bear PSA". I watched it for the first time yesterday and was left scratching my head. Well, the TLDR of it is that the PSA's goal is to link bear abuse to human torture.

The supposed PSA starts with what looks like a grainy VHS recording of a middle-aged white dude tied to a chair and being tortured with a burning stick. Followed by the caption "This Actually Happens To Hundreds Of Bears Every Year" and a brief clip of a captured bear with a stick inserted through its nostrils.

Well, I don't think this PSA ever aired on television, certainly not on primetime cable in the States. I don't know where dafuq it came from. I don't even think the first clip is real, so I'm not putting this on the True Gore section.

My theory always was PETA is actually a group of sadistic animal-abusers who masquerade as animal welfare activists so nobody questions why every single video they post online shows a dog or cat being frozen, boiled or skinned alive. What better way to get away with a crime then pretend you are mearly bringing awareness to it.

It's like all these religious institutions who claim to be morally superior but then many just turn out to be exploitative of their followers or are simply downright giant human slavery/pedofile rings.
