A teenager in Poland was killed during her driving test after her vehicle stalled on train tracks.
Officials in the village of Szaflary posted images of the horrific crash to their Facebook page.
The victim was taken to the hospital in "severe condition," where she died as the result of her injuries.
Australscope reports that the 18-year-old victim was identified only as Angelika. Video captured on a nearby security camera shows the red Suzuki Baleno coming to a stop on the tracks and the driving instructor jumping out just before the wreck.
The unnamed 62-year-old man got out of the vehicle after the teen stalled the engine on the crossing and could not get it running again.
“When we ran to the wreck, the girl was strapped in and the instructor stood nearby and did nothing,” eyewitness Rafal Kwak said.
“The girl had a big head wound, her blood was everywhere, we tried to stop it. I heard her heavy breathing, fading in front of us," a witness identified as Michal said.
The train conductor and passengers were unhurt.
An investigation into the crash has been launched by the Nowy Targ’s District Prosecutor’s Office.
