You snooze, you lose, lady.
Raccoons don't give a fuck. It took me forever to get them to quit coming in thru the cat door at night and eating the cats food. They are not quiet eaters.

I've experienced this also woke up to empty dog food bowl and the water bowl is full of dog food. They will eat about anything but have to wash it lol.
Did you know raccoons only wash the food the first time? When a raccoon finds a food source it washes its hands with the food in it because it has extra sensory in them. It determines if the food is edible. Once they know that it is they won't wash it anymore. So after that they just return to the food source and eat. I moved my cats food to my bedroom thinking they wouldn't come that far and eat it but I was wrong. Around 3 am I heard crunching so I shined my light from my phone and there were two giant raccoons looking at me like "Problem?" Luckily people kinda scare them but you have to chase them. π
