"Two young men were murdered , and a third was injured , in front of a beverage distributor on Avenida Miguel Assad Debs, in the Santa Terezinha neighborhood, in Araguari , on Sunday night (19). According to information from the Military Police, the crime took place around 8 pm and the victims were hit by gunshots . The crime was recorded by a security camera.
The footage shows a motorcycle with two occupants approaching the location. One of them got off armed and shot at the young men. One of the victims fell in front of the establishment, and the other tried to flee but was hit and fell in the middle of the avenue. Despite being injured, the young man was shot again before the attackers fled.
The Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) was called, but both young men died at the scene . The Military Police cordoned off the area until the Civil Police forensic team arrived, which began the investigation.
The victims were identified as Alysson Santos Costa, Felipe dos Anjos Silva, and Clayton de Oliveira Silva. Alysson, who the police said was the main target , was shot in the back, neck, and arm and died at the scene. Felipe, who was in front of the bar buying cigarettes, tried to run, was also shot, and died. Clayton reported that he was sitting down playing on his cell phone when he was grazed in the hand.
The motorcycle used in the crime had been stolen earlier in the month and was abandoned on Rua 8 de Maio. The suspects fled in a blue Fiat Palio with Uberlândia license plates , which was later abandoned on Avenida Coronel Belchior de Godoy. The car has not been reported stolen or robbed.
The PM also reported that Alysson had a history of robbery, dangerous driving and threats, but, according to family members and witnesses, there was no involvement with criminal factions .
The perpetrators have not yet been identified and remain at large. The Military Police continue patrolling and tracking operations.

The weekend's double homicide comes amid a significant increase in violence in Araguari . According to data from the Minas Gerais Public Security Observatory, between January and September of this year, 25 homicides were recorded in the city, a 150% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when there were 10 cases.
The months of July and August recorded the highest numbers, with 11 and 4 murders, respectively. Sunday's two homicides have not yet been recorded in the state's official statistics."
