If you're on the east coast of North or South america right now (6 PM) look outside to the south. You'll see Jupiter, Saturn, the Moon and Venus setting into the twilight. Everyone else can see it for the next few days by looking south just after sunset. Pretty cool, you don't see them line up like that every day.

I watched the mercury - Saturn alignment.
First time I ever could see the red of mars. Guess it was the other planets let me see the difference in color. Earth was a little dark with all the others shining though.
As for the dobsonian, I have the colage womens dorm a mile away, should be perfect for viewing those heavenly bodies.......
