great race and who would have thought Pedrosa would come back and win ?

Pedrosa wins German GP clash

Sunday, 17 July 2011
Dani Pedrosa emerged victorious from a three way race long battle for first, with Jorge Lorenzo stealing second from Casey Stoner on the last corner.

Repsol Honda’s Pedrosa had his usual great start, taking the hole shot ahead of Lorenzo (Yamaha Factory Racing) and Stoner (Repsol Honda) at the start of the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland MotoGP race in what was to be a 30 lap fight to the finish at the Sachsenring circuit. The Spaniard’s win is his fifth Grand Prix victory at the Sachsenring circuit and only his second race after returning from surgery for his broken collarbone.
At the end of lap one, Lorenzo was in the lead ahead of the three Repsol Honda’s of Pedrosa, Stoner and Dovizioso, who fought amongst each other for second until the Australian made his attack on lap 5 to take the lead, only to have Lorenzo regain the lead status a few laps later. The Mallorcan then tried desperately to defend his line, until lap 21 when Pedrosa got a huge drive out of the last corner to launch himself into the lead for the last time.
Meanwhile a three man battle for fourth ensued behind the leaders between Marco Simoncelli (San Carlo Honda Gresini Team), Andrea Dovizioso (Repsol Honda), Ben Spies (Yamaha Factory Racing), out of which Italian Dovizioso crossed the line first 2 tenths of a second in front of American rider Spies and 4 tenths ahead of fellow countryman Simoncelli.
Another intense fight starred Álvaro Bautista (Rizla Suzuki) and the two Ducati Team riders Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi. Bautista crossed the line seventh with Hayden less than a tenth of a second behind the Spaniard and Rossi just 6 thousands behind the American, with of Colin Edwards (Tech 3 Yamaha Monster) following the trio in tenth.
Héctor Barberá (Mapfre Aspar) had an off-track excursion in the early stages of the race, who then staged a great comeback from the back of the pack to finish eleventh, in front of Karel Abraham (Cardion AB Motoracing).
Stoner leads the championship with 168 points, just 15 points ahead of Lorenzo. In third is Dovizioso with 132 points.

So . . . .^ . . . . ..you were a tight cunt and no offer of a scotch was made ?

This weekend, the LCR Honda team will ‘double up’ its efforts at the Red Bull US Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California. LCR’s Toni Elías will be joined by Michael Jordan Motorsports’ Ben Bostrom, who will compete in the MotoGP race as a wild card. Bostrom will also race, as usual, in the AMA Superbike class.
The decision to invite Bostrom, a former World Superbike rider, to compete in MotoGP on one of the Honda RC212Vs is a result of the excellent relationship between the LCR Team and the management of Michael Jordan Motorsports, which is owned by the legendary NBA superstar Michael Jordan. MotoGP is gaining popularity in the United States and the Laguna Seca race is one of two MotoGP stops in the United States this season.
As in 2010 when the LCR Team gave Roger Lee Hayden the opportunity to ride the team’s bike in the MotoGP race after Randy de Puniet broke his left leg in the race at the Sachsenring, Germany, Lucio and the team’s partners are taking the opportunity to experience another MotoGP race in the United States with an American rider.
Lucio Cecchinello:
“The U.S. GP takes place at one of the most spectacular racetracks in the world. The interest of the American fans of this sport grows more and more from year to year and the spectators are always very enthusiastic. Considering that some of our partners are operating in the American market, we thought that we should organise a special event before the summer break. Because of the great relationship between the LCR team and Michael Jordan Motorsports, we decided to invite one of Laguna Seca’s most successful riders to compete for us in the race: Ben Bostrom. Ben will ride with one of our RCVs as a ‘wild card’ rider for only one race, while also taking part in the AMA Superbike race for Michael Jordan Motorsports. I’d like to offer many thanks to the Michael Jordan Motorsports team for the great collaboration and the amazing support.”
Ben Bostrom:
"Words can't express how excited I am to get this amazing opportunity to race on my home track in front of the whole world. I have to thank Michael Jordan Motorsports and American Suzuki for allowing this to happen. The collaboration between Lucio, LCR and the MJM team has been terrific. I'm going to get on the GP bike and put it as close to the front as possible. Then I'm going to hop on my Jordan Suzuki bike and try to create even more magic."

Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix racing numbers

Thursday, 21 July 2011
An interesting collection of facts and statistics ahead of the tenth round of the season this weekend at Laguna Seca.

150 – At the US GP, Hector Barbera will be making his 150th Grand Prix start, which includes 47 in the 125cc class and 75 in the 250cc class.
51 years – On race day at Laguna Seca it will be exactly 51 years since Kenjiro Tanaka finished third in the 250cc race at the 1960 German Grand Prix at the Solitude circuit, giving Honda their first ever podium finish in Grand Prix racing.
51 – Both Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner have stood on the podium on 51 occasions in their MotoGP careers. This is the same number of podium finishes in the premier-class as both 1993 world champion Kevin Schwantz and 1999 world champion Alex Criville.
20 – Valentino Rossi has finished in the top nine in all 20 races since returning from injury at the German Grand Prix last year.
17 years – On race day at Laguna Seca it will be 17 years ago to the day that Kevin Schwantz won the 500cc GP race at Donington in 1994 after suffering a huge high-side crash during practice. This was the last of Schwantz’s 25 Grand Prix victories.
7 – Of the twelve premier-class races held at Laguna Seca, seven have been won by riders from the USA.
7 – Casey Stoner has finished on the podium at the last seven races – his longest sequence of successive podium finishes in Grand Prix racing.
5 – It has been five years since an American rider has finished on the podium at the Laguna Seca MotoGP race. The last MotoGP podium for an American rider at the circuit was Nicky Hayden’s victory in 2006.
4 – Four of the riders competing in MotoGP this year have raced at all the previous six MotoGP races at Laguna Seca since the return to the circuit in 2005: Loris Capirossi, Colin Edwards, Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi.
4 – The last four MotoGP races have been won by four different riders: Casey Stoner, Ben Spies, Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa. The last time that there has been four different MotoGP winners in four successive races was at the final two races of the 2009 season and the first two races of 2010: Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa, Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo. If there is another different race winner at Laguna Seca it will be the first time since the end of the 2006 start of the 2007 season when there has been a sequence of five different MotoGP winners. On that occasion the sequence stretched to six different winners, over the final five races of 2006 and the first of 2007: Valentino Rossi, Marco Melandri, Loris Capirossi, Toni Elias, Troy Bayliss and Casey Stoner.
3 – Since returning to Laguna Seca in 2005 with the 4-stroke MotoGP machines, Honda have been the most successful manufacturer with three wins. Yamaha riders have taken two victories and a single win has gone to Ducati.

They got the bike right then lost Vale (cause they didn't need him ).
Pedrosa couldn't develope a smile fucking a brollie girl in a dark room, 3 yrs later along comes,Stoner along this season ( with most of his crew from ducati ) they had no chance of winning a 800cc title. The only one Honda have not won.

With Casey so few points in front and Pedrosa coming back so well.

Will Honda get the crown they have spent $100's of millions to get ?
