Ferrets piss on everything and it really stinks bad…a former friend of my in-laws asked it he could wash some stuff while working on their house, dude brought in stinking pissed-stained blankets, stuffed them into the washer, and the whole house reaked of nasty piss…I have ferret PTSD. My roommate in college had two of them. Little fuckers would steal anything they could carry and hide it. Their number one thing to steal-car keys. I don't know how many times I threw my hands up and said "Looks like I'm not going to class today."
They use a litter box but they do mark their bedding with some kind of heavy ammonia spray. You have to bathe them weekly or they will smell.Ferrets piss on everything and it really stinks bad…a former friend of my in-laws asked it he could wash some stuff while working on their house, dude brought in stinking pissed-stained blankets, stuffed them into the washer, and the whole house reaked of nasty piss…
Too high maintenance for me…I’ve had gerbils most of my life, the one I have now we let her run all over our bed for an hour, and she dose’t drop a single turd or piss stain, she also prefers to use one of her little “houses” as a toilet, we just take a paper towel and clean it, really easy. They use a litter box but they do mark their bedding with some kind of heavy ammonia spray. My ex got our son Guinea pigs. Ugh. They smelled so bad. I was so glad after 7 years they both finally died from old age.Too high maintenance for me…I’ve had gerbils most of my life, the one I have now we let her run all over our bed for an hour, and she dose’t drop a single turd or piss stain, she also prefers to use one of her little “houses” as a toilet, we just take a paper towel and clean it, really easy.
Considering that both animals are popular pets, this friendship is not that unusual. In the wild yes. But this is nothing out of the ordinary. I used to have a ferret as well as 2 cats and a dog. They were all BFFs
