What’s one fact that blows your mind?

I like this paradox: A gamesman shows you three covered boxes. Two are empty and one contains a million dollars. You can keep the contents of the box you pick. You make your pick. Now you know that at least one of the other boxes is empty. The gamesman shows you an empty box. Now you are left with an empty box and one with a million dollars. The gamesman now asks you if you would like to switch boxes. Here most people would say that it makes no difference if the player switches boxes because the odds are even. However you would be wrong. It would be better to switch boxes since that would improve your odds. Try to figure it out.

Random interesting fact: About 60% of human DNA is similar to that of a banana 🍌

Disturbing fact: The average person swallows around 7-10 spiders during their lifetime while sleeping.

Mind-blowing fact about humans: Our sense of smell is so refined that we can detect cadaverine, a chemical produced when proteins break down in dead bodies.

1) Irrespective of the direction of the wind, cigarette smoke always blows in the face of the non-smoker... because God hates commies.

2) People often sneeze when they look at the light because the optic and trigeminal nerve are closely linked.

3) Trees can match saliva to the insect and defend itself accordingly. For example, elms and pines can send out pheromones that summon parasitic wasps to lay their eggs inside leaf-eating caterpillars. Trees also have a better sense of community than humans. Using a fungal network (wood wide web) they can detect when a neighboring tree is low on water and send aid through its roots. If a tree is malnourished and doesn't grow as tall as the others, it creates a hole in the canopy for strong winds to rush in and threaten the whole community, so they fight as one. Spartan shit.
