No, it's in real time. So you have to build up your base fast and send out your army.
Ok, I meant during the battle/fighting itself. Can you stop it and give orders to the single units. Some games prevent that, you have to do everything on the fly.

I don't have the 'Supercarrier', is it simulated as an 'island' (not movable/steerable) like in some other sims too? Is it armed?
In Arma 3 is such a carrier as well but the simulation of aircraft is just mediocre. It's too easy to fly and land on the carrier.
The old IL-2 had Japanese and US carriers (AI-controlled) and they were damn small for a landing.
