what are your plans for the door?

Stain it dark and see what it looks like, or I'll just paint it again. The glass sucks so I'll replace that too with some thick anti-nigger security shit so poor people can't put their hand through it and open the door, as it's going on the house eventually. My mother does stained glass and leadlighting but I don't want any flowery shit i'd rather something epic, painted, behind the negger glass.

I should have kept the old color then lol

Got both for 75 bucks, the wrought iron gate will go on too after I grind the hinges off and hang it on the other side, with a new lock, same with the wooden door, gonna cut in a dutchman in over the old hardware holes with a router. I'll have to chop the bottom off the door and put a new piece in, you can see in the pic how crooked it is. Easy fixes tho 👍

This shit weighs a fucking ton, that gate and its frame are is heavy as fuck. I like it.

And I got some vintage looking schlage lock set from 'merrica for fuck all that should look nice on it.

That’s awesome Man.. they for sure don’t make shit like they used to.. that’s the beauty of the solid wood door. Sand it down, Paint or Stain and good as new.. here there is a local store called “Community Forklift” some Rich asshole would have paid 500 a piece for those so all the prices are way over inflated..

I was surprised at the price tbh, I think most were just put off by the condition of the door, you'd have to fix that bottom before it could go up, and also it's out a few mm down one side, wider at the top than the bottom, but the door seems to be extra wide as well as tall so I might be able to plane it straight rather than pull the whole fucking rail or stile, or whatever they called the sides, off, and try match a new piece of wood (if I stain it)
...plus it's hung on the wrong side lol I have to swap everything over... I don't think yuppies would bother buying it they want something they can just screw on and feel proud about using a cordless drill more than once.

Nothing sadder than something that still functions as designed being cut up into a hipster showpiece, applies to so many things lol.
