As for my own opinion I think that one, the state shouldn't be in the marriage business. Not up to a government who can say who can love one another, track the vital statistics but don't be issuing licenses. If two dudes want to pair off fine, none of my business. That should be their right and they should be protected by the same laws as any other hetero couple. But likewise the same laws that prohibit hetero polygamy, incest, etc. should apply to everyone regardless of gender mix. And if a certain church or faith doesn't want to perform a ceremony with a gay couple that should also be their right. If the Catholics don't want to marry a pair of fags there are all sorts of other churches who will.
