The highest fee (at the mayor's office) I've ever paid was when my mom's house/property was overwritten to me and my sister. The guy made an entrance in an old huge book, printed out a few documents and signed/stamped them and gave us a copy: 1500 €.

We are supposed to update the picture on our Photocard License every ten years or its declared invalid for ID purposes but we don't have to renew our Driving License until we reach 70. How often do you have to renew yours and how much does it cost?

Yep, my sis and I are the owners, but she doesn't live there, me either. It's the good old farm our grandmother had bought after the war and where I grew up later. She had to leave everything behind in eastern Germany when the Red Army advanced and the communists took over this part of the country later.
Most of the property is now leased to a neighbor and an old aunt is living there. I'm helping out sometimes working in garden and house a bit.
