I helped my daughter make a pair of flip-flops for a school project on how people made shoes after WWII when there was a rubber/leather shortage. We decided to make them out of duct tape. I am happy with how they turned out.

duck tape is the nads though it is partially rubber, which kinda burns your project if you were trying to not use rubber or leather. i'd wear those
