And their colors start to really come in when they go from spiderlings to small juveniles. About that time you can start to get somewhat of a guess as to what the gender may be--though nothing is definite until the so-called penultimate molt. The pink fuzzy one that I am getting next month with the green shiny spot (avicularia versicolor--the antilles birdeater) is really neat. They start like this:

and after the penultimate molt, you get this:

Inorite? That hair though.just looking at those spiders gives me the willies...just too scared of them to even consider one as a "pet". Those are pretty to look at from afar, through a glass case though.
