Made a potato salad last night for a barbecue I'm going to today, entirely from scratch. Fairly straightforward: 2 lb. new red potatoes (tossed cold into boiling water and left for 15 minutes, cooled, then diced), 6 diced hard-boiled eggs, 1 lb. chopped bacon, 2 cups homemade mayonnaise, 1 finely diced onion, 1 stalk of finely diced celery, and salt and pepper to taste.

The tricky part of making a delicious potato salad is to get the eggs and potatoes done just right, and then of course to season properly. I pulled it off.

I'm about to go julienne some cabbage and carrots and chop some parsley to toss with the dressing I made from scratch last night (including curdling my own buttermilk) before I head out.

Nongshim Shin Noodles. First time I tried this I threw it out, too fucking hot. Now I love it. Added some celery and sweet pepper. I prefer the broth over the noodles so I add an extra cup of water. Maybe buy some dehydrated soup veg to add.
