the psychology is that when female cops are with male cops they both crank up their harshness, the male to show that he is an alpha and the female to show she is as good as a male.

I forget the source for this but it's out there somewhere.

Ditto for concerntration camp officers. A classic example is Irma Greise and her lover Joseph Kramer.

Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s bc they subconsciously feel out of balance in power and are compelled to try and equalize it

Interesting stuff. Isn’t it because women are less confident grappling hand to hand with a usually grown man criminal so the life threatened meter goes up faster or something like that?
