disaster Woman crushed to death by block of ice

A block of ice crushed a woman to death at a bus stop in central Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Ice collapsed from an apartment building and crashed through the roof of the bus stop. A 54-year-old local resident died at the scene. A second woman miraculously survived—she took a step forward.

This year, residents of this building have repeatedly complained about poor snow removal—the management company even received a warning from the mayor's office. The city administration blamed the management company, as it had already received complaints.

However, the manager of the management company claimed that all requests for roof cleaning had been fulfilled. He claimed that the snow fell from the residents' balconies, which they were supposed to maintain themselves.
