It’s called decebrate posturing and is caused by a severe brain injury. He probably did not survive. Sad, but he shouldn’t have started something he couldn’t finish..

People convulse pretty regularly when knocked out and survive. It's not a for sure death sentence. Must not have seen too many people knocked out. While yes it's a brain injury, it's not always fatal, not even 50% of the time.
Im no expert by any means but i always thought that when they stiffen like he did instead of going into a fetal position means theyre basically already dead as the brain isnt even trying to defend the body from further damage.

Edit: well not necessarily the fetal position but just tucking inward at all

According to multiple sources, the survival rate of patients with decerebrate posturing due to TBI is about 10%. Those who survive are likely to be permanently severely impaired.

I have an acquaintance who worked in a care center for TBI patients. He had been in medical school, couldn't quite hack it and never became a doctor. Apparently jobs like that are where failed doctors go to suffer. He's talked about how extremely depressing it was to work with people for years who never get one iota better despite your best efforts.

Dude in the video likely died, and if he didn't, likely has no meaningful quality of life.

Correct, even the right type of concussion can cause this symptom
