The Exorcist 3. 1990. Written and directed by William Peter Blatty.
8/10
A good psychological horror film that follows on from the first one. George C Scott plays the detective from the first one.
A bit gruffer but still good in the role, it takes the 'possession' element a step further and involves a series of murders.

Mission impossible 3 2006 J.J. Abrams.
4/10
Hoffman as the bad guy was good, but everyones screen time is pretty limited.

Mandy. 2018. Panos Cosmatos
7/10
A typical home invasion plot but with a few real quirky things thrown in that only someone from outside 'Hollywood' could come up with.
Nick Cage giving it his all, interesting to see. It got decent reviews, mainly because it was sooo fucken weird. The colours are dailed right up and reminded me of the original Suspiria, the writer/director is Italian. I lost interest in the last 15 minutes and hit the FF button.

Sicario Day Of The Soldado 9/10 Excellent movie has the same feel as the first one Brolin and Benito on top form again really enjoyed this, lots of double crosses and the ending leaves it wide open for a third movie.

Watched that last night thanks too your review. Only thing i could fault in it was when they had the guy in that crater type thing at night and got the young lad to shoot him. Well the two choppers where on their way and two minutes out. It was still night in the choppers but when they got their it was a sunny day. Because of that it's a 8.5/10 from me. great film thanks.

i only post the trailers for movies that i enjoy. (yes, i legitimately enjoy showgirls.) i have pretty eclectic taste. i consider myself a horror fan with a penchant for the weird.

beyond the black rainbow: a young woman tries to escape from the futuristic, labyrinthine laboratory where a mad scientist has imprisoned her since birth. (a visual and aural masterpiece as far as i'm concerned. striking colors and moody synths create a strange and wonderful world in this beautifully obtuse arthouse sci-fi thriller.)

woodshock: a troubled young woman begins to unravel when she starts using the same potent cannabinoid drug her mother used to kill herself. (if you feel like watching kirsten dunst smoke pot and wander around in cute 60's-ish outfits, this is the movie for you. it's definitely not for everyone and in many ways it's like watching paint dry...but the paint is really pretty in a sad kind of way and you're left with this weird, somber nostalgia afterwards.)

the void: a policeman must contend with violent hooded cultists and bizarre creatures at an understaffed hospital. (basically a modern rehash of the thing set at a hospital instead of an arctic base. the action pretty much starts off right away and it doesn't really let up much thereafter. good practical effects and bizarre creature designs make for a modern horror done right.)

starry eyes: an aspiring starlet discovers the dark origins of the hollywood elite when she signs on for a starring role in a new horror movie. (girl wants fame. girl makes deal. girl has no idea what she's getting fine little ass into. an interesting take on the slasher with some light body horror elements, too. strong performances from everyone.)

entrance: a barista living in la has no idea someone has been watching her and stalking her until he decides to crash her moving away party to kill all her friends. (a slow-burn slasher light on the slash. in fact, the slashing doesn't really even start until the final half hour. for the patient viewer, there is something quietly terrifying about the realism and that grim ending sticks with you.)

showgirls: a drifter becomes a topless dancer in las vegas and does whatever it takes to get the coveted lead spot in the best show in town. (jessie from saved by the bell is all grown up and she's got the full nude scenes to prove it. a campy dramedy with its tongue firmly planted in cheek...when it isn't licking stripper poles, anyway. has more than a few laugh-out-loud lines, tons of nudity, and the most infamous sex scene of all time.)

der samurai: a young police officer in a small german village questions his sexuality as he tracks a dress-wearing, katana-wielding lunatic with a thirst for blood. (queer german horror watchable for even those who aren't butt pirates. no gay sex scenes to be had here, although there is a gratuitous boner shot for the ladies and the gays. bonus points for originality.)

opera: an opera singer is stalked by a deranged fan who makes her watch him kill everyone close to her by tying her up and taping needles under her eyes during the murders. (one of dario argento's better films. pretty standard stalk-and-slash is spiced up with grandiose locales and that whole needles-eyes thing. that totally unexpected the sound of music ending is deliciously wacky.)

belladonna of sadness: after a woman is raped on her wedding night by a feudal lord, she makes a pact with the devil to gain magic and take revenge. (a beautiful animated mindfuck of the highest caliber. beautiful art style marries sexual imagery with violent flashes. in essence, this is a nsfw studio ghibli movie on acid.)

zombie: four strangers arrive on a tropical island where a doctor is looking for a cure for a recent epidemic in which the dead come to life and feed on the living. (the godfather of gore, lucio fulci's masterpiece also happens to be the best zombie movie. that shark vs. zombie scene is still one of the coolest scenes ever filmed.)

mandy: a broken man hunts the religious cult and motorcycle-riding demons responsible for the brutal death of his beloved. (panos cosmatos' long-awaited sophomore effort following 2010's beyond the black rainbow. like that movie, color and sound help create a really interesting world that you enjoy visiting. nicolas cage gives perhaps his most unhinged performance yet. oh, and someone finally had the good sense to give him a chainsaw.)

the barn: set on halloween 1989, a group of friends on their way to a rock concert put a local legend to the test and wind up summoning three demonic killers. (a fun throwback to eighties slashers with practical effects featuring not one, but three masked murderers. never hurt by its modest budget, this ride of nostalgia should become a halloween tradition for lots of horror fans.)

ninja scroll: a vagabond swordsman, a beautiful ninja, and an old spy take on a clan of demonic killers, each more fiendish than the last. (an action-packed anime movie with cool characters using interesting powers to fight badass fight scenes. there's a fair bit of animated nudity in it, too, if that sort of thing gets you jerkin' your gherkin.)

the blackcoat's daughter: left behind at their catholic boarding school over winter break, two very different girls must confront a dark presence. (this slow-burn modern horror classic is dripping in bleak, icy atmosphere. part-slasher movie, part-possession flick, the discerning viewer is rewarded with strong performances, flashes of brutal violence, and twists and turns.)

zombie: four strangers arrive on a tropical island where a doctor is looking for a cure for a recent epidemic in which the dead come to life and feed on the living. (the godfather of gore, lucio fulci's masterpiece also happens to be the best zombie movie. that shark vs. zombie scene is still one of the coolest scenes ever filmed.)

Seems like their must be 3 of those fims by same director. Here Zombie 3:-

Seems like their must be 3 of those films by same director. Here's Zombie 3:-

the zombie from 1979 that i mentioned is also known as zombi 2 (yes, without the "e" at the end.) it is an unofficial sequel to george romero's dawn of the dead. the original italian zombie trilogy consists of dawn of the dead (which was was released as zombi in italy,) zombi 2, and the movie for the trailer you posted, zombi 3. the latter two are the only movies in the series that lucio fulci directed.

to rake in on the money they kept adding unofficial, loosely-connected zombi sequels, including zombi 4 (aka after death) and zombi 5 (aka killing birds.) they kept adding other horror films to the series, even movies that had little to nothing to do with zombies! there are actually quite a few other movies with zombies that are alternately titled zombi 3.

however, zombie aka zombi 2 from 1979 is really the only one that is a horror staple. i prefer it to dawn of the dead.

yes, i am aware that this is all unnecessarily confusing.

Here comes the devil. 2012. Mexico.
8/10
Two kids go up a hill and aren't the same.
A raunchy slow burn horror, the reviews i read were mixed, it had a basic style to the way it was filmed but it was the way the plot evolved that intrigued me.
Not for everyone, but this is the third mexican film iv watched this year and will watch again in the future.
