Brazen Bull

a brass torture device made back in 500 b.c. in Greece, was produced by Perilaus. featured with pipes and whistles, which is to be hovered over a fire. whichever unlucky bastard fell prey to this death trap, would be roasted alive in the hollow inside in somewhere about 20 minutes. the screams would travel through the whistles and pipes apparently to make the bull sound as if it would be snorting and growling. Perilaus was the first victim of many more to come to fall into the terrible fate of his own torture device as demonstration. even if it didn't satisfy Phalaris completely, he found the bull to be useful and continued to pick off its victims in the future by using it as a death penalty. it was later to be seen as a symbol to represent his tyranny and cruelty.

I actually have a lot of pictures from this museum of torture I visited a while back. I remember seeing the bull in there, as well as many other fucked up ways of torture. It was so much fun!
