Keen to hear fellow goregrisher’s opinion on what happens after death. Rebirth? Heaven, hell? Pitch black nothingness until the end of time?

The picture and sound disappear and disappear forever
The brain is still working for a few minutes (provided the brain is not damaged) so you sense death, your body relaxes but after that eternal darkness and deafness follow, and you cease to exist
Maybe the energy comes back from where it came from, but there is no heaven or hell just eternal cessation

Nothingness. Until the day the earth is incinerated by the sun then we become stardust again as we originally started. What's your answer to ur own question 420?
Might be a weird concept to grasp but... I am convinced that the moment we die (brain death) the next birth in the universe could be you. So you could be an microbe on an undeveloped planet, could be a Jaguar living back on earth, as long as an empty brain is given birth the consciousness develops to be YOU... all we are were just empty brains that have developed its own consciousness to be able to call itself “me”. It all comes down to being given a brain that’s intelligent enough to acknowledge its own existence

Also believed that we’ve all been dead before... as something else at least. I find comfort in thinking that an unlimited amount of time can pass in an instant after death, so who knows, the improbable series of events that created our lives could probably happen again.

As for a more realistic outlook, it seems pitch black for all of eternity is the most probably outcome.... implying that ALL living things only live once, hence, YOLO :nig:

Islam teaches that there is life after death, and this is known as Akhirah. In Islam, it is Allah who decides when a person dies and most Muslims believe that when they die, they will stay in their graves until Yawm al-din, the Day of Judgement. On that day, they will be raised from their graves and brought before Allah and judged on how they lived their earthly lives. This belief is known as the resurrection of the body.

Those who have performed more good deeds than bad will enter Jannah, or Paradise. Jannah is a place described as a 'garden of everlasting bliss' and a 'home of peace'. In Jannah there will be no sickness, pain or sadness.

Those who have performed more bad deeds than good will enter Jahannam or Hell. This is a place of physical and spiritual suffering.

Muslims believe that Allah is forgiving, merciful and compassionate, so not all bad actions will be punished. Allah will forgive those who have repented for their sins and those who have done some good in their lives, for example showing kindness to others.

There are, however, some sins that many Muslims believe to be unforgivable. These include the sin of shirk.
Belief in life after death is central to the meaning and purpose of most Muslims' lives. Many Muslims believe that they are on this earth for a relatively short time and during this time they are preparing themselves for eternal life after death. They view this life as a test and try to do as many good deeds as they can. In order to get to Jannah, they must also fulfil their Islamic obligations.

Not sure. Common sense tells me it’s eternal oblivion, like before you were born, but I also used to have out-of-body experiences as a child, which suggests to me that we are not confined to our bodies/brains, so, who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️
Wow! Am interested in hearing your experiences! I do believe that some religion could be somewhat true, but I’m not too sure how to start.... the best way is to think of beings of power on a different dimensional plane.. that can somehow interfere with our dimension

I was very young, about elementary school age so this is going on about 40 years ago. But a few times, I could see myself from a vantage point in my bedroom lying in bed asleep. Strangely, I wasn’t alarmed, I thought everyone did it till I was older. I don’t really have that ability anymore though I might again if I meditated, I’ve just been too busy with everything to relax enough.
