They launched this last week with an expected retail of US$3,499. IMO that's a lot of cash for something I don't see a market for, at least not yet. Google Glass (an epic failure), Meta Quest Pro (not quite as much of a fail but still not a hit), Meta Quest 2 (replacement for the most successful VR headset but a fraction of the cost of Apple's device at US$499) have never hit mainstream adoption and I'm not convinced that's going to change.
VR is something that's been tried in various industries be it medicine, upstream oil & gas exploration, aviation with the last having the greatest uptake. But these are all highly specialized application with users prepared to spend millions. $3500 for "mixed reality" personal computing?
