The core group were former members of the Yardbirds, who had various guitarists like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page in the group at one time or another in the 60's. When they formed BoF's they got various vocalists like John Fiddler, Ian Dury and Roger Chapman! In case you wanted to know!

yeah....i'm familiar with the yardbirds they were kind of a rock primordial ooze with the members who passed through them.....was b o f like in the 80s...it just rings familiar like i have heard it......i was testing chemicals in the 80s so they are kind of hazy to me but as i say this seems familiar
