House Democrats step up to try to stop Project 2025 plans for a Trump White House

WASHINGTON (AP) — Warning about the far-right Project 2025 agenda for a Donald Trump White House, a group of House Democrats has launched a task force to start fighting the proposal and stop it from taking hold if the Republican former president returns to power.

Democratic Rep. Jared Huffman of California is unveiling The Stop Project 2025 Task Force on Tuesday, the latest sign that congressional Democrats and outside groups are treating Trump’s campaign seriously in the expected rematch against Democratic President Joe Biden this fall.

“The stakes just couldn’t be higher,” Huffman told The Associated Press.

Huffman said the Project 2025 agenda will hit “like a Blitzkrieg” and lawmakers need to be ready.

“If we’re trying to react to it and understand it in real time, it’s too late,” he said. “We need to see it coming well in advance and prepare ourselves accordingly.”

The Democratic-led task force comes as groups on and off Capitol Hill are increasingly alarmed over Project 2025, a sweeping blueprint from the conservative Heritage Foundation that is preparing to quickly help staff a new GOP administration with plans for dismantling aspects of the federal government and installing loyalists for a second Trump term.

Kevin Roberts, the president of The Heritage Foundation and Heritage Action for America, scoffed at the “unserious” effort and said the left is “in a frenzy” as Project 2025 tries to wrest control of the federal bureaucracy.

“Project 2025 will not be ‘stopped,’” Roberts said in a statement. He said the Democrats fighting Project 2025 are “more than welcome to try. We will not give up and we will win.”

While the Trump campaign has repeatedly said that outside groups do not speak for the former president, Project 2025’s 1,000-page proposal was drafted with input from a long list of former Trump administration officials who are poised to fill the top ranks of a potential new administration.

Core to the Project 2025 plan is ousting thousands of civil servants and replacing them with personnel from a database of applicants, an effort to reverse the setbacks of Trump’s first term, when many of his more extreme ideas were thwarted and blocked by those refusing to break norms or overextend presidential powers.

Huffman’s group is the latest to take on the Project 2025 proposal and plans for a Trump White House.

Last week, one of the nation’s leading civil rights organizations, the American Civil Liberties Union, announced it was preparing potential legal action to stop Trump’s campaign promise to launch mass deportations of immigrants on the first day of his presidency if elected. It’s the first of several memos the ACLU is rolling out, offering a blueprint on how it plans to respond to a second Trump or Biden term.

And others are detailing alleged threats to democracy if Trump’s attacks on the judicial system, plans to pardon those convicted in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol and threats of vengeance on political enemies take hold.

Huffman’s group is made up of about a half-dozen House Democratic lawmakers in a loose coalition separate from party leadership. It plans to begin briefing fellow lawmakers about Project 2025, hold a forum on Capitol Hill and inform voters about its ideas.

The group hopes to provide a hub of information for lawmakers, voters and organizations about various policy proposals, including immigration, reproductive rights and others.

As a founder of the Freethought Caucus on Capitol Hill, Huffman said he has particularly been alarmed about a rise of Christian nationalism within GOP ranks and efforts to push more conservative theology into government.

“We were able to beat back some of the worst of this Christian nationalist agenda, this authoritarian agenda, in the first Trump presidency, because they didn’t really know what they were doing,” Huffman said. “The fact that they have been putting all of this forethought and research and planning into a second Trump presidency means we’ll be dealing with a much more formidable foe, if it comes to that this time around.”

How about Congress work on stopping child marriages? Which is technically legalized child sex abuse. There are some states that have no age requirements.
Because then all their rich friends would have to stop doing it. Epstein was only one of many degens, not even close to the biggest fish. A lot of these sex trafficking freaks hold a lot of political power… money talks.

Probably why the US is the only country in the UN who didn't ratify the agreement that it would require marriages to be people above the age of 18.
And I think Tennessee may have passed a law that makes it so there is no ceremony required for marriage. Meaning if the cops come to a persons house and he has a 15 year old girl there he can claim that they are husband and wife and not be charged with statutory rape. A lot of TV stars, musicians and politicians frequent Nashville.

Bingo! Unfortunately we are one of the only few safe havens for this shit in the western world. The corruption runs deep. They keep trying to normalize it through hijacking the lgbtq movement and creating groups like NAMBLA.

The two states that have the most celebrities and politicians living in them are Tennessee and California. The two states that have the most lax marriage laws also.

Speaking of NAMBLA, this is a pretty interesting documentary from 1994. Worth a watch if you can stomach it. Nothing explicit, but the guys they got access to are incredibly delusional, and it's very interesting from a mental illness angle.

Here are some pretty interesting numbers and facts: The victim knows the perpetrator in 93% of child sex abuse cases. The majority of perpetrators are young, white males. 67% of child sex abuse occurs between the ages of 4-11. When the perpetrator isn't a family member then it's usually a teacher, religious professional or care worker.
Misleading or limited portrayals of child sexual abuse, particularly by political leaders, and the national news is how they silence survivors further. People see drag shows, along with LGBT or naked parades because that is how they create widespread ignorance. They make it so society is arguing over who likes paedophiles more instead of having changes being made.

Yeah, it's a fascinating subject. I'm interested in mental pathology, and this is one of the areas that a lot of people shy away from for obvious reasons. You may be aware of the Franklin Federal Credit Union scandal and its links to politicians and child sex trafficking. If not, you may find the attached documentary interesting. There is also a few books about it; one written by John DeCamp, who was a lawyer for some of the putatively abused minors.

The victims were found guilty of perjury and sentenced to 4 years in jail.
The CEO of the Credit union was sentenced to 15 years for embezzlement. Some said that child sex abuse accusations that were put out by the media was because the government wanted a distraction from the embezzlement so that it wouldn't cause a run on the banks. The Credit Unions were being found to have been involved in a lot of illegal activity using their funds. It was the beginning of the end for them. The stock market crashed later after they arrested the CEO for embezzlement.

Democrats are shit pure and simple. They fostered this ridiculous trans gender shit and let thousands if not millions of "people" into our country.

Ohhhh....watch out for the "Christian Nationalists"....but LGBTQ stormtroopers who seek to destroy women's athletics via trans-gender men masquerading as female athletes? THAT doesn't bother them a bit! Allowing little boys to take puberty blockers without parents permission? What's wrong with that ? Something is rotten in Denmark! (To steal a quote from Shakespeare ).

Of all the stupid shit to waste time and effort on...how about maybe focusing on the border and your illegal use of setback NON-CITIZENZ to vote for you lefty losers?

People think they are making decisions based on the facts, but are actually influenced by what other persons in their social networks believe, an “informational cascade” that leads to mass movements that are otherwise inexplicable."Framing” behavior often superimposes a general approach to a problem based on stereotypes and anecdotes that have little basis or relevance. Society's decision making is intuitive, rapid and emotional, rather than coolly calculating, deliberative, and logical. This is why they are only made to believe they are the ones making the future decisions for the country. But instead what happens is they are lead in the direction that government feels is necessary to maintain a prosperous moral society. Psychologists have documented this type of control. To get a certain answer or reaction is dependant upon how the question is asked. Like if you want to increase organ donors you would make it so that they have to opt out. Making it so that everyone is an organ donor except the ones who go thru the hassle and paperwork to opt out. Instead of having it so that in order to be an organ donor you have to opt in which few take the time to do.

why are they treating this as an end of the world crisis or event? I mean seriously they’re acting as if it’s gonna be a governmental takeover lol. fear mongering at its finest. These people don’t have that much power of the people of the USA. not yet anyways.

You mean the country founded on immigration? The country that has always had the highest immigration percentages in the world? The builders of this country fostered the idea of immigration and the accepting of all people.

The people who enforce the laws have all the power. The government has all the power, citizens have none. Who gives your money worth? Who decides whether or not you will be imprisoned? Who decides whether or not you will be forced to fight in their wars if necessary? Who takes a portion of the money you have earned without you having any say in it? Who makes you pay a fee on things you already own and if you don't they will take it or put you in jail or both?

I'm a political atheist, so I have no electoral dog in this hunt. Frankly, I have no use for Democrats or Republicans. I am a veteran, however, so I have read portions of the 920-page Project 2025 document (actually entitled, Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise / Project 2025: Presidential Transition Project), because of what it says about the VA, which should concern not only wounded veterans, but all American taxpayers. The architects of Project 2025 have big plans for the Veterans Administration--not to destroy it, but to gradually privatize it. The trojan horse in this effort is an innocent-sounding initiative called "Community Care," which Project 2025 aggressively promotes as a silver bullet to solve all the problems of an under-resourced, over-bureaucratized VA. The program, which Pres. Trump signed into law, was sold to the American people as a way of expanding veterans' healthcare options by allowing them to go outside the VA system, to a private healthcare provider. And since the paperwork is all confidential and hopelessly opaque, and the federal government has very deep pockets, the "Community Care" provider can charge the gov't (which your taxes pay for) three or four times what they would normally charge a civilian for the same procedure, while also charging the veteran a "co-pay." I know this because I've used "Community Care." I've seen it up close and in person, and I know how it works. It's the perfect scam, because it allows private corporations to make a shit-ton of cash by overbilling for veterans' healthcare, while you get to pay for it! The costs will skyrocket, of course, which will allow politicians to clutch their pearls and wag their fingers, and holler about how the VA is so obscenely costly and inefficient, we should just go ahead and privatize it and turn the whole thing over to United Healthcare. One of the private companies running Community Care is OptumServe, which is owned by United Healthcare, so we're already halfway there. The other private corporation running the Community Care scam is Triwest, who was recently fined nearly $200 million for overbilling the VA. (That was just the stuff the IG caught; the actual amount was likely closer to a billion. ) With President Trump, and United Healthcare, and Triwest poised to divvy up the massive veterans' healthcare pie, what could possibly go wrong?

Maybe you're not a veteran, so none of that matters to you. But if you're a member of Goregrish.com, you should care very much about Project 2025, because its architects--people like Russell Vought--are Bible-thumping religious fanatics who are planning to ban anything they view as "pornographic" or "objectionable." Under their regime, any explicit adult material, including run-of-the-mill pornography, and extreme gore sites like this one, will be criminalized, and anyone who produces or consumes this material will be arrested and prosecuted. This is all outlined in great detail in the Project 2025 document. The people behind Project 2025 (The Heritage Foundation, the religious right, etc.) managed to overturn Roe v. Wade, which nobody thought was possible. It would be a mistake not to take them at their world.
