How much electricity do you use?

700sqft apartment is using about 550kW per 30 days. I run an mobile A/C and 3 computers most days. But with the temps dropping down into the 60s around my area, I suspect the A/C is going to be put away in about a month. With 3 PCs running during the day and 6 monitors, it can warm my room to well over 80 degrees during the summer even with A/C (it's a smaller mobile unit). Overall, bills tend to be between 65-75 monthly. Not bad for me.

Maybe turn your heating down as well as the cooling fan?

I pay 79 quid a month but that's gas and wifi too rolled into one bill and they drastically reduced it from about 140 in April because I was paying too much.
No idea on Kw or even how I'd find out.

I need to get back to you on this..

Just hang on. Let me just..

Just curious...

How much electricity do you use per month? In my case i have an average that oscilates between 1800kW and 2400kW every 30 days. It depends on the weather during those days, since my main consumption is in the central heating and cooling system of my house that it's almost on 24x7.

You?
Not got a clue,ยฃ50 leccy ยฃ50 gas at a push, key and a card uk shit, people keep telling me it's more expensive fuckers are wanting ยฃ200 a month if it's a bill. Naw you ain't holding my money cunts are raping us as is.fucking wrongns

idk even know anymore. but i think ive turned into my father though with this. because i keep shutting off all the lights after people. they walk out of a room and leave the light on then walk into another room and turn the light on then leave that on and go down stairs. "so whose upstairs now? oh thats right! mr.nobody (again). well tell mr nobody to shut the lights off".
plus, the bill keeps going up. NOW theres some shit where were paying extra because of those who cant afford to pay THEIR full bill, and those of us who pay, have to help pay theirs. well guess what..... im no longer gunna pay. because ill use their program and have others pay for mine!
fucking bullshit man. electricity in the north eastern part of the u.s. is a rip off. legal rape.

You reminded me of my dad, I still have the memory of being in bed studying, seeing his hand go behind the door, "click" turning off the light thinking I was asleep and i swearing telling him to turn it back on because of that. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Something similar happened here for several decades. Electricity was subsidized by the State because theoretically there were people who could not pay for it. The problem is that these subsidies were paid by all of us who could afford it in the form of taxes. Basically it was like this: We all paid very cheap electricity, around u$s2 per month, but only some of us paid certain taxes that took a large percentage of our income and the money was used to cover that.

And in my case it was even worse, because since i don't want to owe the government any favors I had already renounced energy subsidies since 2015, so I paid the full price + extra taxes since then.

That was the case for decades, and I said "theoretically" they couldn't afford it because during the first increase when electricity went from being u$s2 to u$s7 a month some of those who protested saying they "couldn't afford to pay those amounts" did it having/from u$s300/u$s500 cell phones. It was disgusting...

Now this government that came in changed absolutely everything, eliminated all energy subsidies, equalized the price of energy to international prices and everyone pays for what they consume, bills went from U$s7 to U$s70, U$s100 and even in some cases U$s500. The funny thing is that many of these high bills are from poor neighborhoods, now they are all crying saying that they can't pay the bill and that they don't know what they are going to do, clearly people accustomed to spending energy that others paid for.

I own a very big house, i have central electrical heating and cooling, there are 4 AA that are working almost 7x24 keeping my home at 74F no matter what the weather is like outside and my spending is around U$s160. The only way that a poor person could consume the equivalent of U$s500 in kW is because he always cared a damn about his electricity consumption since someone else paid for it through the subsidy, now that is over forever...

I dont even look anymore. My bill duromg the summer months is 750 to 850 a month. I keep my ac at 68 67 day and night. Id rather be comfortable and broke than hot and have $

idk man i just pay 130 bucks every month
130.00 is pretty cheap.

Solar panels are an excellent investment, not only in the long term, but also in the short term. Good decision.
Placed 2 wind turbines a few years back. With new battery technology in the mix,
Electricity is free so, 0.00 monthly.
Well gives free water to both buildings.
Waiting on improved solar technology to begin looking at that for later. :whooper:

the dad thing made me lol....

the govt needs not to the elec company is the one that is raising (or i should say raised) the rates. again. for this situation. if the govt gets involved, and steps in with the elec bill situation, they will make it worse. because the govt will want a piece of it for its own pockets.
ths whole thing is just pathetic. world wide i might add.
the "go green "agenda is a fucking joke! you think Tanzania can afford to do this E.V. thing? or Afghanistan and Iran? all the black outs they have happening. all the time. because there isnt enough "strength" to keep constant power going. again... this is what happens when govts get involved. such as in your country. put people on a fucking payment plan then. limit their electricity usage also. because the "switch" is at command control in the electric company. im sure they can control the wattage being used just the same. maybe a device attached to the house where the power comes in to do this. idk. im not an electrical engineer. but something needs to be done. its fucking bullshit and it also feels like its another way to reach into the pockets of the upper middle class and knock us down to the poor class. another form of pocket rape.

the dad thing made me lol....

The worst part was being in the bathroom shitting, not being able to get up from the toilet, sudenly seeing the door open very slightly, seeing my father's fingers slide between the door and the frame and "click", he turned off the light and left. I was left in the dark on the toilet. The number of times I insulted him for that are countless...๐Ÿ˜‚

Regarding the rest, I completely agree, and nothing that the government manages will be efficient.

There are 4 ways to spend money:
1) Spend the money you earned on yourself
2) Spend the money you earned on others
3) Spend the money that others earned on yourself
4) Spend the money that others earned on others

The government is the 4th way to spend money, which is the WORST way to spend it. Because it doesn't know how much it cost people to get that money nor does it know what people need at the time of spending it...

one thing i have to disagree with here. the govt is the FIRST to spend your money.
were merely in the back seat,as we take it up the back side!

And we agree, the 4 ways to spend money that I wrote (which are the only 4 ways there are) are not in order, but rather they simply describe what those ways are. ๐Ÿ‘

The government is always what is written in the 4th way of spending money and it is for the above reasons that it can never be efficient in it, since it is the worst way.
