He probably survived that. I have seen alot worse bike accidents on this Gore site. This was chicken feed.

Speaking for no one in particular, thank you sir/madam, for having the wherewithal and responsible adult quality situational awareness to insist your accompanying child walks on the building side and slightly behind you within arm's reach on that sidewalk instead of on the curb/street side. As such, you and your accompanying child get to live at least for another few minutes. Additionally for future reference, do kindly watch out for the poles shooting up out of the ground and don't run your accompanying child into them in the name of his/her safety.
